My creative efforts in photography relate directly to my work as a writer and cultural anthropologist. With all of my work, I strive to understand and convey through images and words some of the most telling aspects of people's lives. Much of this work is concerned with experiences of selfhood, memory, time, language, image, and relationships as these experiences take form in particular settings, for both individuals and communities.
This can be seen in the three projects presented here, "Photos in my lost hours," "Seared with Reality," and "The Gambit."
